Achieve balanced warp tension and smoother weaving. Secure your warp with precision and confidence using Leclerc Beam Sticks—a trusted alternative to canvas aprons for many Leclerc loom models. Whether you're preparing a long warp or seeking better control over thread tension, these beam sticks offer a clean, direct connection between your warp threads and loom beam, minimizing loom waste and reducing the risk of thread slippage.

Why Weavers Choose Beam Sticks Over Aprons

  • Consistent Warp Tension: Beam sticks allow for direct warp attachment, giving you even tension across your warp and more control during the beaming process.
  • Less Slippage at the Edges: By reducing the likelihood of edge threads slipping, beam sticks help preserve your warp's alignment for cleaner weaving results.
  • Minimizes Loom Waste: Like apron setups, beam sticks allow you to beam close to the warp and cloth beams, helping you get the most from every warp.
  • Sturdy and Long-Lasting: Crafted from solid wood or durable metal (model-dependent), Leclerc beam sticks are built to handle years of use.

Beam Stick Features and Compatibility

Beam sticks are available in both wood and metal, tailored to specific Leclerc loom models. Be sure to match the correct stick to your loom's weaving width and beam setup.

Metal Beam Sticks

On some models, like the Artisat, beam sticks are used on the warp beam while the cloth beam uses a traditional apron.

How to Use Beam Sticks

  1. Secure to Beam: Attach the beam stick to your warp or cloth beam using a strong lashing cord (such as Leclerc’s braided nylon cord). Thread the cord through the beam stick’s holes and wrap around the beam.
  2. Connect Your Warp: Tie your warp threads to a steel rod, then lash the rod to the beam stick. This system keeps the warp evenly distributed and securely fastened.
  3. Wind With Confidence: Beam your warp while maintaining even tension. Add wooden warp sticks between layers of warp to avoid ridges and ensure smooth advancement.

Beam sticks are especially helpful on smaller looms where replacing aprons can be less convenient or unnecessary.

Pair With:

  • Steel Warp Rods – Used to lash the warp to the beam stick
  • Lashing Cord – Needed to tie the beam stick securely to the beam
