Our Favorite Free Projects to Feed Your Weaving Appetite

We love all our crafters equally, but today we’re going to focus on our weaving community by highlighting a few weaving projects we’ve come across recently. On a scale from Fun to Functional, you won't be disappointed!

While we offer a great selection of Jagger Spun weaving cones, in this article we’re going to focus on Brown Sheep’s popular weaving yarn lines; Cotton Fleece, Nature Spun and Lamb’s Pride in particular.

The projects we’ve detailed below are all 100% FREE patterns, and make for a great way to spend some quality time with your loom this Winter! We’ve included a range of project across all skill levels, so without further delay, let's weave our way down to some fun suggestions! ; )

Woven Dish Towels

This dish towel is a modern twist on a classic design. If you have a Schacht Cricket Loom, you can weave them yourself! If you are in the market for a Cricket Loom, we can help you HERE!

These dish towels work up wonderfully well in Cotton Fleece, which offers a wide range of colors to mix and match the base with the accent stripes.

The leash is woven on an Inkle Loom, and the instructions include patterns for the paws, checkerboard design, and the full alphabet.  Add your pup’s name to the leash or personalize it for a special gift.

The above mug rug is used making whatever yarn you have on hand, but Lamb’s Pride or Nature Spun is particularly suitable for these projects.  It’s a perfect practice project for beginner weavers and makes for another great gift idea!

All 4 table runner patterns work up beautifully using Cotton Fleece or Cotton Fine yarns on a rigid heddle or shaft loom. Bonus suggestion…if you make your runner thin, it could (possibly) double as a stylish scarf!
